With the small hole on the side of the bong, you can actively influence both the air flow and the resistance when smoking. Close the hole with your index or middle finger when smoking. In this way, the air is drawn through the bong bowl and smoke can accumulate inside the bong. If you now lift your finger and release the hole, you can empty the bong in one big puff or several small puffs due to the sudden air supply.
In addition, the release of the carb hole adds a higher amount of oxygen to the smoke. The sudden emptying of the bong, the individual adjustment of air resistance and the improved regulation of the oxygen supply by simply lifting the finger lead to an intense high - a real kick!

A bong with a carb can come in all conceivable formats - as a cylinder, beaker, bubbler or even as a heady glass product - and in all kinds of materials. Often you find them equipped with a ground joint system that has a diffuser chillum. Stemless bongs or dab rigs, on the other hand, are less common because a carb hole would either hinder proper and professional use or - as with dabbing - the manual regulation of air flow, draught resistance and oxygen supply is already done by using carb caps or carb cap dabbers.
A carb hole bong is characterised above all by its good flow. The position of the carb hole can be either in the front or in the back of the bong neck. It can also be on the left or right side of the bong. In most cases you will find bongs with a carb on the left side, where the hole is closed with the index finger of the left hand while holding the lighter with the right hand to light the bowl piece. Models with a carb hole on the right side, on the other hand, are less common, especially since left-handed smokers are also a fringe group among bong smokers that is rarely specifically targeted. Compared to this, products with the practical opening on the back are more common in bongs made of acrylic.
The thorough cleaning of a bong with a carb hole is less complicated than with models with completely closed systems. On the one hand, the opening in the glass can be used as a further access point for narrow cleaning accessories, and on the other hand, it can be used as an inlet or outlet for the water with which the bong is thoroughly rinsed.
