Disposal of electrical appliances

The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:

The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.

Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass

Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass

Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass

Please note the above instructions.

*The Battery Act stipulates in § 9 that online retailers are obliged to take back used batteries in order to ensure proper disposal.
Batteries that have to be taken back are those of the type that are carried in the product range. This means that the return obligation depends on the type of battery purchased and not on the fact that you, as a customer, have purchased exactly this particular waste battery beforehand. According to § 1 para. 1 sentence 2 BattG, this also includes batteries that were added to other products or built into other products, insofar as these were not permanently installed.

Examples: AA and AAA batteries from digital scales, button cells from LED modules.
