Harvesting tools for trimming and processing plants

What good is the most sophisticated, best-performed plant cultivation under artificial light if the harvest fails in the end? The right timing is critical to the height and quality of the yield. In addition to a high level of experience, you need the right harvesting tools for ambitious indoor growing of many different plants. In other words, tools that help you harvest and then process, such as scissors, clippers, presses, knives, nets, sieves and so on. We have collected some of the most popular harvesting tools for processing plants in our grow shop for you.

Different grow accessories for different applications

We offer you many products for outdoor and home growing, which are needed for commercial plant cultivation as well as for indoor cultivation for your own use. Only with these accessories you are able to process your plants professionally to bring them into a new shape or consistency to create an even higher quality product.

Knives, scissors and clippers

Cutting tools in the form of scissors, clippers or knives are needed in many aspects of plant cultivation and processing. They are used to take care of young saplings, to prune individual shoots, to obtain cuttings but also to harvest herbs, vegetables, mushrooms, fruits and inflorescences.

Trimmer

A trimmer makes it easier for you to separate foliage from woody branches. They come in different sizes and formats. One of the most popular trimmers is the Tumble Trimmer, which rotates the trimming blades inside by turning a winch (via hand crank or electrically operated) to separate leaves as well as flowers from their stems. The leaves are shredded and can be removed for further processing, for example for subsequent drying. Such a harvester is especially suitable for foliage-bearing plants such as coriander, lovage, etc.

Weighing knives and herb shears

Herb shears and weighing knives are especially useful for processing medicinal herbs and spice plants. With their help, finely chopped herbs can be made from coarse plant parts in no time and without much effort. As helpers in the kitchen, they are now almost indispensable, but also in the grow area, these tools find their use.

Harvesting helpers for drying plants

Drying mushrooms, herbs, wildflowers and other plants has a certain tradition. In addition, drying brings various advantages: for example, the dried food is thus preserved and made available throughout the year. Active ingredients from medicinal herbs such as sage or chamomile can be stored and do not necessarily have to be freshly harvested for processing. Use tools that help you on your way to perfect drying, such as a drying rack or a multi-layer drying net.

Extractors

You need an extractor for processing herbs and medicinal plants into essential oils, extracts and concentrates. An extractor for home use is usually cylindrical and made of temperature-resistant glass or stainless steel. With the help of a gas cartridge - preferably dimethyl ether - the essential oils of the plant material are dissolved and the extract is collected in a suitable tub below the extractor. Once the residual gas has successfully evaporated from the extract, it can be stored very well in a non-adherent container for processing at a later time.

Sieves and pollinators

Electrically or manually operated pollinators are used as harvesters for the extraction of trichomes, resin crystals and pollen (pollen dust). With their assistance, you create the raw material for the finest smokers' supplies. They can also be used for the propagation of yielding plants. In Germany, you will find them in the form of electric pollen extractors such as the Heisenberg pollen machine or as hand pollen shakers to process only smaller amounts of material.

Presses and Piecemakers

A pollen press - or piecemaker - is a tool for processing keef, which is obtained in grinders as well as pollinators, for the production of coins or pieces. The powdery material consisting of resin crystals, pollen, trichomes and herbal powder is compressed and compacted inside the press. This allows for better, longer as well as space-saving storage. Loose herb residues, on the other hand, can be further processed into so-called cakes.
