A cone is an already pre-rolled joint paper. Obtainable in bleached or unbleached and untreated paper, these fine tubes already have filters or mouthpiece tips rolled into their narrow end. Cones are particularly well suited for smokers who are not good at rolling cigarettes, whether for lack of talent or for health reasons.
Cones, as the name suggests, are conical in shape and taper narrowly towards the filter. They come in different sizes, from the length of a normal cigarette, to king size format, to the giga cone with a length of up to 28cm. On the one hand, the individual formats hold an individual maximum amount of smokable material, but on the other hand, they can also differ from each other in their burning characteristics and smoking behaviour, even if the maximum filling quantity is the same. The following list broadly describes common formats of commercially available joint cones.
Depending on the manufacturer, the diameter and length of the filters vary. This, as well as the way the cone is built, changes the maximum filling quantity and the burning behaviour.
